What is Yorucha?

A three-year limmud through choshen mishpat — forty-two topics, about one a month, each divided into chalakim of a week. The home page shows the limmud this month, whatever is being learned this month is what the calendar on the home page is showing.

Do I have to learn it with a chaburah?

No. Learn it on your own, with a chavrusa, or as part of a chaburah group. The materials are the same either way; the individual learning experience in the system as well as the chaburah experience are each tailored to support the lomed in his respective setup.

Can I join in the middle of the cycle?

Yes. Each topic stands on its own and a new one opens every month, so there is no month in which starting puts you behind. Wherever you come in is a good place to begin.

What if I miss a week?

Nothing is lost. The full topic now running and the last chelek of the topic before remain open, and your place is kept for you — so a week away can be made up without a gap. Enlisting in Mekushir opens everything from the day you enlist through the end of the cycle, for whenever you want to go back for it.

What do I get each week?

The marei mekomos for the chelek — on screen, downloadable, ready to learn from. A robust set of shiurim on the topic, audio and video. And your place in the limmud, kept from week to week.

You can enlist in Mekushir to have: the booklet printed and delivered each month, the Overview Shiurim series, sikumei halachos, and ask shailos straight to the dayanim.

Do I need to sign in?

The current topic week by week marei mekomos is open to read without visiting your dashboard — the calendar on the home page links to it.

In your dashboard, that's where the limmud actually lives; the shiurim, the forum, your chaburah, and your place kept from week to week. It takes an email address and some basic info so we can best provide to you, a code that comes back to you, and nothing else.

What is Yoru Mishpatecha?

The advanced limmud, for rabbonim and those working toward היתר הוראה. It is a separate corpus with its own material and its own testing — not a deeper tier of Yorucha, and it is followed on its own page.

What is a specialty track?

A single year given entirely to one area of halacha — ribbis and finance is the one running now and begins in Cheshvan — on its own calendar, and is similarly structured and styled as Yorucha. It suits somebody who has already been round the full general cycle, or somebody whose line of work presents a higher pertinence. The lomed can learn one or the other, or both.

Can I ask a shaila on what I am learning?

Yes. The forum joins you with others learning the sugya, as well as asking a shaila privately to the dayanim — all on your learning dashboard.

Is there testing?

If you want it. Monthly written tests and oral bechinos over Zoom are there for anybody who has a cheshek to master the sugyos and can test toward accreditation.

How do I start a chaburah in my shul?

From your dashboard. That is where you join a chaburah that already exists as well. You can also begin one in an office setting. Our helpful executive staff is poised to assist in the setup, identifying a maggid shiur and setting up the materials.
